“Speaking of epic novels, during my 'initiation period' into Shroomology I was introduced to Clive Barker's Imajica. A friend lent it me and said 'Be warned; Imajica will take over your life.' It did. Looking back through what rough recollection I have of it - in the context of all I have read over recent years regarding Gnosticism and related subjects - I think Barker was definitely onto something in his own unique way.”

Re: Terence McKenna: A Great Take on Alien Life - Magic Mushrooms!

I enjoyed reading through that list of quotes and personal insights SA - profound stuff. I remember being struck by someone telling Pi o Pah (I think) something along the lines that that he should never study anything except with the knowledge that he already knows it, and also something about the Circle being the most powerful symbol / shape there is.

The writing in the green box: I'm not sure what the word between 'required for' and 'to accomplish good' is, but I figured it's maybe 'goodness'? That makes sense but I wanted to make sure I'm not misunderstanding.

Re: Terence McKenna: A Great Take on Alien Life - Magic Mushrooms!

Thanks for the clarification.

I did see your crop circle post and noticed the potential similarities between the burning bird and the flaming pyramid.

Weird thing is I just looked up and there's a guy sitting opposite me in the internet library right now and he's wearing a black baseball cap with a little red pyramid positioned in the front centre. I wonder if I can sneak a pic without getting my lights punched out and being banned from the library for life...

Re: Terence McKenna: A Great Take on Alien Life - Magic Mushrooms!

I feel like i don't even need mushrooms these days with the way my brain operates & how i notice so many subtle (& not so subtle) things, it's like i'm already tripping. I had some recently, it had been a long time but someone gave them to me for free. I had some cool visions & almost started crying because i felt like a wave of love & forgiveness to myself was rushing through me..then a Rastafarian-colored peacock appeared, made me laugh & no longer cry.. No woman, no cry. No little darlin, don't shed no tears..

Re: Terence McKenna: A Great Take on Alien Life - Magic Mushrooms!

I had a Gateway experience ages ago where I saw a peacock but wasn't sure of the implications. Then SiriArc indicated how peacocks can be symbolic of healing, and in the context of what I saw I felt it pertained to self healing in particular. Whenever I see rainbows in such sessions or during dreams I feel they're about the HS - or a connection with it - and I guess the Rasta colours could be about the same thing, or especially Higher Love/true love/one love. Your experience is pretty inspiring with regards mushroom therapy and the good it can do us.

Re: Terence McKenna: A Great Take on Alien Life - Magic Mushrooms!

There was also a moment where i could see some sort of fence around my mind, which i was able to construct & deconstruct with mere thought. It was geometrical sort of like this:

http://i50.tinypic.com/30bpbx5.jpg

Then i spoke to myself (inside, not verbally out loud), that i was "ready to go through this" & "move on to something better". It dissolved, & it was like i was there but i was not physically there, like i had just become this ball of energy, which then floated out into space, not every far i don't think, maybe right outside the atmosphere. There was nothing but darkness & stars at first, then shortly after, one star in particular approached me, which turned out to not be a star. It was what appeared to be an angel of sorts. It had silvery-white wings (I'm guessing some kind of metal like chrome, silver, platinum, heck if i know). When it opened them i could see what looked like some sort of weird alien-like language i had never seen before, etched into them, with some jewels here & there. It kind of reminded me of some art i've seen from ancient Egypt but different. I couldn't really see its face because it was shining so bright from its body but it did wrap its wings around me. I felt like i had communed with some sort of energy i'd forgotten about/lost ages, maybe lifetimes ago. Then it floated me back down safely to "Reality" (whatever that is tongue ). Then it just faded away & next thing i remember was i overheard someone in another room say something about Jay Leno & the first thing that came into mind was how annoying Jay Leno sounds when he talks, & i blurt out "I HATE JAY LENO", people laughed. I felt bad for a second for verbally expressing hate but got over it just as quick. Pondered how simple speech can mess up a whole vibe then though to myself "If i ever do this again, i'm making sure i am alone...."
